August 15-17, 2024 – Humanitarian Development Response Training

People’s organizations from various COM partner-communities in Manila, Taytay Rizal (Floodway and Lupang Arenda), Taguig City, Pasig City, Rodriguez Rizal, and Laguna (Biñan, Calamba, Sta. Rosa) participated in the training on humanitarian response.  

The training was a valuable undertaking as it focused on preparing communities that are prone to natural and man-made disasters which are common in the areas where the participants reside.

Topics discussed included national and international humanitarian legal frameworks, Rights of Nature, Camp Coordination and Camp Management, Core humanitarian principles and Sphere standards and Church’s Programs and Services Related to DRR and Climate Change Adaptation.

The participants formed Rapid Response Teams and engaged in  simulation activity and workshop to enhance their preparedness.
